Corrugated Bottom

End and side adjustment of cutters. Cutters one solid piece of fine, high carbon steel well ground and polished. Bottoms and sides nicely polished. Inside of bottoms finished in glossy black enamel, frogs in red enamel. Lever cap polished, nickeled and buffed. Selected rosewood knobs and handles.

Jointer Planes are used for finishing, more generally fore dressing edges to a light tight fit that are to be glued or joined together. (1938 description)

Additional Notes:

On early models the number was cast into the body around the front knob and the knobs were made from rosewood (cocobolo). Later models came with a tropical hardwood knob. The manufacturer’s name and model number was stamped on the left cheek.
