Bottom and frog fine gray iron castings. Bottom and sides milled and polished. Inside black enameled. Plane iron of good quality steel, carefully hardened and tempered. Lever side adjustment of cutter. Screw end adjustment of cutter. Clamp lever handle red. Hardwood handle and knob with black lacquer finish. (1938 description)
Quick, easy depth and side adjustments. Cutter is one solid piece of tool steel, 2″ wide. Sides and bottoms are polished, inside of bottom, lever cap and frog are red and gray enameled. Knob and handle are clear-grained hardwood finished in rich black. Length 9 inches. (1961 description)
